After becoming the World T20 champions, Team India has been showered with a lot of love, appreciation, and accolades from the people around the world. However, everyone must be wondering how much money Team India received after winning the World Cup T20, 2024 trophy? The BCCI have already announced a hefty INR 125 Cr amount to World T20 champions but that is not all. They were rewarded so much more money from ICC and Maharashtra government too.
The Indian cricket team got stuck in Barbados for 3 days due to the Hurricane Beryl and landed in New Delhi on Thursday morning. They received a grand welcome from Indian fans at the Delhi Airport and the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also invited the Team India for a special breakfast at his residence in Delhi.

PM Modi hosted the Rohit Sharma led Indian Cricket Team for the breakfast on July 4th. He spent about two hours with the World T20, 2024 champions and asked each team member about their journey and experience in the tournament. He congratulated them for the World T20 Title and had a memorable conversation with them. He also expressed his delight on the social media platform ‘X’ over the meeting with champion team.
After meeting the PM Modi, Team India left for Mumbai for the Victory Parade organized by BCCI and Maharashtra Government. Later, they participated in the Felicitation program at Wankhede stadium.
Prize Money awarded to Team India
The Indian cricket team so far have been awarded with a hefty 125 crore by BCCI for winning the World T20 Championship 2024. The Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India, Mr. Jay Shah awarded the 125 crore cheque to the Indian Cricket team captain Rohit Sharma in the felicitation program held at the Wankhede stadium Mumbai.
In addition to this, Team India were also rewarded with a big prize money of INR 20 crore from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for becoming the champions. After that Maharashtra Government have also announced a price money of 11 crore INR for the world cup T20 winners. So, they have received a huge 156 crore amount in total so far and who knows they might have some more coming from some other Governments or cricket authorities too.
