He could not score a run and got out on a duck once again in this world cup. However, even after losing one of the most precious wickets, India continued to fire at the Aussies bowlers and never gave them a chance to settle down. After Virat got out, Rohit Sharma took a charge and played some beautiful shots along with Rishabh Pant who played a short innings of 15 runs off 14 balls with 1 four and 1 six. He was caught by Hazlewood at 15 runs. After him, almost every Indian players contributed with some handy knocks like Surya Kumar Yadav scored 31 off 16 with 3 fours and 2 sixes, Dube got out on 28 off 22 balls, and Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 17 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. At the end, India gave good 206 runs target to Australia.
Australia started well even after losing Warner in the very first over. Travis Head and the skipper Mitchell Marsh did well with their 76 and 37 runs respectively. However post that they kept on losing wickets none of the Australian batsmen put up a good fight. At last India won the match by 24 runs and made it difficult for the Australian team to get into the semi finals.
